Radiesse® is a popular cosmetic injectable that can dramatically smooth and enhance both the facial aesthetic and physique. Known for being extremely moldable, versatile, and volumizing, it aims to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production and create a softer and more youthful-looking appearance.*
At Alexander Ereso Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics, Dr. Ereso and our nurse injector – Iwona Nasuto MSN, RN – can administer Radiesse® in two primary forms. Firstly, we offer Radiesse® as a traditional dermal filler, using calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres to address moderate to severe folds and wrinkles. That said, we most often administer Radiesse® in its hyperdiluted form, which includes lidocaine and saline in its solution. In this form, Radiesse® can be used to significantly tighten loose or excess skin,* as well as perform a non-surgical alternative to Brazilian butt lift surgery. What Are the Benefits of Radiesse®?
Especially in the hands of a qualified injector, Radiesse® can:
- Promote collagen and elastin production in the face, neck, chest, abdomen, arms, knees, and (in some cases) buttocks
- Replenish volume in the lower face and back of the hands
- Address moderate to severe smile lines, marionette lines, chin wrinkles, pre-jowl folds, and more
- Shape, define, and contour the jawline
- Create long-lasting effects and virtually immediate results
More exciting yet, Radiesse® generally involves a very brief and minimally invasive treatment process. This can make it a wonderful addition to a comprehensive medical spa experience – complete with injectables, facials, or skin resurfacing treatments like microneedling. Many patients opt to undergo follow-up Radiesse® sessions to maintain the results of the injectable.
In its biostimulator (skin tightening) form, we have generally found that Radiesse® is best suited for patients 40 years of age or older who are experiencing visible signs of aging or depleted skin as a result of weight loss injectables (i.e. semaglutide). It may also be the ideal choice for patients who are ineligible for or uninterested in facelift surgery.
How Is Radiesse® Administered?
Before beginning the Radiesse® procedure, Dr. Ereso or Nurse Iwona will clean the treatment area and (if you wish) apply a topical anesthetic. For your comfort and safety, we will use a blunt cannula to make the injections and gently massage the area for gradual and equal distribution of the product.
The Radiesse® process is typically very brief in duration, usually taking between half an hour to an hour to complete. You might experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site, but these should subside within a few days.
How Much Does Radiesse® Cost?
