Aesthetic injectables are commonly used to refine and define facial features and improve the appearance of the skin. Several types of injectables exist – from hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers to neuromodulators and more – and these treatments can address a number of common concerns, such as wrinkles, folds, and volume depletion. Their versatility makes them some of the most frequently requested cosmetic procedures at Alexander Ereso Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics.
Dr. Ereso performs all injections at Alexander Ereso Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics. He performs injectables by themselves or in combination with other surgical or non-surgical procedures for anti-aging purposes. We will be glad to help you choose from our vast list of injectables based on the nature of your aesthetic concerns. Continue reading for more information.

What Are the Benefits of Cosmetic Injectables?
Cosmetic injectables can provide some of the benefits of facial plastic surgery without the time, commitment, or expense. These injections require very little preparation, though you are advised to discontinue the use of any blood-thinning medications and avoid drinking alcohol in the days leading up to your appointment. The reason for this is that both can increase your chance of bruising, and alcohol can increase inflammation, leading to prolonged swelling. An injection generally takes anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour and does not require significant, if any, downtime. Most individuals can attend an appointment on their lunch break and resume daily routines almost immediately afterward with few restrictions.
The results of cosmetic injectables often appear quickly and can last several months depending on the specific product used. In addition, they can complement the results of other procedures, such as facelift or eyelid surgery.
Dr. Ereso performs all injections, and with his vast experience and knowledge of anatomy, the injection experience is performed with very little risk or long-lasting complications. That said, for safety purposes, it is important that you communicate any medication use or allergies prior to your injection.
Am I a Candidate for Cosmetic Injectables?
There are few contraindications for cosmetic injectables. In fact, hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is also made by our body and plays a role in maintaining skin health and promoting wound healing.
Patients who desire cosmetic injectable treatments typically want to achieve one or more of these aesthetic goals:
- To plump up the cheeks, lips, or temples
- To fill in fine lines and wrinkles around the nose, mouth, and chin
- To define the jawline
- To create the illusion of higher cheekbones
- To smooth the skin around the sides of the mouth
- To fill in acne scars
- To correct asymmetry in the face
Injectables may appeal to you if you desire a younger, fresher appearance but do not have the inclination to undergo surgery. When evaluating you for fillers, Dr. Ereso will listen to your aesthetic concerns and desires to improve and refine your appearance without distorting or overfilling.
Which Cosmetic Injectable Should I Choose?
Alexander Ereso Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics offers a complete range of the latest top-of-the-line, FDA-approved injectables, each of which has a unique formulation and purpose. Dr. Ereso will review the available injectables with you, explaining what each can accomplish and the benefit they will provide for you. Depending on your anatomical needs and treatment goals, we may suggest treatment using a single injectable or combining two or more.
Neuromodulators
BOTOX® Cosmetic
Your face is dynamic, making millions of movements and micro-movements every day. Movements like squinting, frowning, laughing, and talking create dynamic wrinkles and folds. The unique solution in BOTOX® Cosmetic was designed to temporarily decrease or prevent specific facial muscles from contracting and creating these wrinkles, allowing for a smoother and more youthful appearance.
XEOMIN®
While XEOMIN® is similar in composition to BOTOX® Cosmetic, it is free of additional binding proteins. As such, it can dramatically improve and refresh one’s appearance with fewer antibodies and sometimes even faster-acting results.
DAXXIFY™
DAXXIFY™ is the latest neuromodulator that was FDA-approved in 2022 to address frown (glabellar) lines. DAXXIFY™’s innovative solution is free of human and animal byproducts and contains both botulinum toxin type A and a novel peptide. In addition, the injectable is known to produce results that can last up to nine months.
Dermal Fillers
JUVÉDERM®
Products from the JUVÉDERM® portfolio are some of the most popular fillers at our practice. Made with hyaluronic acid – a substance that occurs naturally in the body to aid in collagen and elastin production – JUVÉDERM® can be the perfect choice to restore suppleness and hydration to aging skin. There are multiple different formulations of JUVÉDERM®, including JUVÉDERM® VOLLURE®, JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA®, and JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA®, and each is used specifically to treat different areas of the face.
Revance® RHA® Collection of Dermal Fillers
RHA® is a well-known line of fillers, each of which is designed to be resilient enough to adapt to your facial movement. RHA® 2, RHA® 3, and RHA® 4 are indicated for the correction of moderate to severe dynamic facial wrinkles and folds, whereas RHA® Redensity can target wrinkles surrounding the lips (also known as “smoker’s lines”).
Restylane®
Restylane® products are another family of dermal filler mainstays that we commonly use for anti-aging purposes. Available in several formulations, Restylane® can smooth out tear trough deformities, volumize the facial features, or soften facial creases.
Radiesse®
Radiesse® contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres, which kickstart the body’s production of natural collagen. Over time, skin treated with Radiesse® can appear softer, smoother, and more supple.
Sculptra®
Sculptra® triggers the natural production of collagen with a compound called poly-l-lactic acid. This filler offers the longest-lasting results of any similar product, with most patients enjoying their improvements for up to two years.
Additional Injectable Options
KYBELLA®
KYBELLA® is an FDA-approved injectable with a unique purpose: to reduce or eliminate submental fullness (unwanted fat underneath the chin). Small amounts of the product are injected into the chin to destroy the fat cells, which can prompt the area underneath the chin to appear leaner and firmer.
Facial Fat Grafting
If you are uncomfortable with injections of man-made substances, ask Dr. Ereso about facial fat grafting. This surgical procedure uses a patient’s own body fat to fill in wrinkles and shape features.
Cannula Technique
Dr. Ereso has extensive experience using the DermaSculpt™ device when performing injections. The DermaSculpt™ device is a blunt-tip cannula that can be applied to virtually any of the dermal fillers (i.e. hyaluronic acid-based injectables) mentioned above, and can mitigate some of the side effects sometimes associated with injections, such as pain, bruising, and swelling.
Lip Augmentation
Many of our patients desire a fuller, plumper pout – and with lip augmentation, this sultry look can often be easily obtained. Dr. Ereso can perform lip augmentation with dermal fillers or fat grafting, depending on your goals and preference. One of the most common concerns that patients express is the desire to add volume without creating the over-injected look that is sometimes seen. During your consultation, Dr. Ereso will examine your lip shape and discuss what your goals entail. Dr. Ereso understands that each patient has specific concerns and injecting dermal fillers is not “one-size-fits-all”. Whether it is to restore volume loss due to aging, fix a subtle asymmetry, or to create a specific “pouty” shape, Dr. Ereso has the skills and experience to help you achieve your goals.
How Much Do Injectables Cost?
The cost of filler treatment depends on the type and amount of product used. Our surgical staff is happy to provide a customized price quote for you after Dr. Ereso has determined your treatment needs.
